What a great day!! The weather was fantastic and ShagRacing were at Pembrey for a Focused Events track day.

Darren, Martin and Chris were on their first track day for about 8/9 years and we were in the Intermediate group. Andy and Stu Hollyway were in the experts.

The first session was lead by an instructor who we followed for 3 laps before entering the pit straight and being allowed to go off on out own.

I was following Chris with Martin behind and after a lap we were both overtaken by a Green machine. Marting rocketted by us both on his ZX9 and we were off.

Andy and Stuart then went out for their 15 minute season.

In our 2nd outing we had a brilliant laugh with me leading, closely followed by Martin and Chris. This was great fun until we caught up with a bloke on a Hyabusa then it turned into a right laugh. We could all have him for corner speed bu the only place I could do him was down the home straight. I took the corner much faster than him and out out accelerated him down the straight only to be faced with him litterally parking his bike in the corner after coming down the far inside of the track. Weird. Lap after lap this happened until I did actually succeed in keeping him behind me for a few bends until he dived up the inside again and parked it on the brakes. I believe he got put down into the Novice group and told to calm down!!

Then in the 3rd session we had a problem with a bloke on a ZX9. I out dragged him down the straight only for him to come across the track and be 6 inches from me doing about 130!! The knees and elbows were out and I thought I was back on the start line of a motorcross race!

He also chopped across the nose of Chris and nearly made Martin fall off by totally ignoring his presence and taking the bend like Martin wasn't there. If somebody catches you up and passes you on the brakes surely they are faster than you so sto pissing around and let them get on with it, it's a track day not a frigging race!!

So after lunch Andy and Stuart came down from the experts and joined in the fun. Well Stuart did, Andy was using the run offs to his full advantage on 6 year old tyres. Hope you go better next time!

Hollyway gave all 3 of us a little lesson on how fast a bike can go round a corner but when I opened the gas to keep up the rear come round and that was that. Martin had the rear come round on him aswell but if he was in the air it would have called a 'WHIP'. Apparently the bike was on full lock with the rear wheel screeching and smoke coming off the tyre. Stu looked round just at that point and saw Martin in a very dodgy position! Fair play for staying on shag!
