This would be the 2.2 vtec Prelude's second outing. We hit the road by 2.00am, the long haul up to the M4 had me thinking "just maybe" I was asking too much from the 1800 T.D.Tow truck.
Worry not, it got us there with best part of an hour to kill, before signing on at 7.45 then briefing at 8.30.
British Touring Car Champion Matt Neal welcomed us and wished everyone luck out on track. After a few sighting laps we were waved on, and true to past form in two corners, I was making full use of the green stuff.
My two worst corners were Redgate and the first part of Coppice, but by cooling it into both of these, then powering round I got it to stick a bit better. I did get fully into the kitty litter once at Redgate, but kept it moving and made it back onto the track unassisted.
Matt Neal was around the whole day, mixing and chatting freely, a really down to earth guy. I got through over £40 worth of petrol in the Lude, dont know how many laps that was (wish i had set the trip meter) but it was "Shagtastic". The P100 even got us back home eventually, (with a little bit of help from the boys in blue).
All photos turned out shite, but i have some track footage on D.V.D. which will be doing the rounds if you want. Thanks to crazy Stu for the loan of the digital video camera.
must get bigger tow truck, must get bigger tow truck, must get bigger tow truck.
