This was the best £90 that I have spent for a long time, I'm so glad that no one wanted to buy the 'Lude. Got up to Combe around 8.30 with no queueing out side. My first session was booked for 9.45, but there was a very heavy mist all around the track, so the sessions were held back till the mist cleared.

I missed my briefing, but luckily so did a few others, so we were given a small private brief, and the car then passed its noise test with ease.

I could not believe how intense it was, going out on the track for the first time. I've done oval racing before but this was something else. I had no idea where the track went, or how fast to take any of the corners. Cars were flying past me like I had never been passed before ! I got on the tail of a cavalier and stuck with him for two laps, ok, time to move on. Passing him was the easy bit, now I was having to make decisions again. Head for the red cone, break, clip the blue cone, drift out to the green, then floot it. Sometimes I got it right, sometimes I was half on to the grass. A red capri was now right up my arse waiting for me to cock it up. Managed to hold him off, started to get a little tidier and closed in on a Golf. after the best part of a lap, I passed him and that was the last I saw of the Capri. When the checkered flag came out, I was surprised how happy I was to see it.

Second session 11.30 am, went well from the start, still being passed, but starting to get approach and braking better. Great fun, but when I messed up, I messed up "big stylie" ! No spins, but full use of the grass on the odd chicane.

Session 3, 2 pm, my last one of the day. Pulled away from the pit lane around 10th and started to pick a few off. Touched 120mph a few times before having to lift off for Avon Rise. Had a brilliant time in this session, felt good, still going wild 'n' wide now and then, but always getting away with it. When the seesion ended I was the second car off the track.

Went and had a late lunch, which promptly passed through my body faster than I had gone all day!! The Prelude is still dent free and I'm well up for more. Any thoughts of doing the C.C. Saloon Car Championship are well and truly blown out of the water. A lot more of these track days are definitely needed. Strongly recommended.
