Some prick that couldn’t get off the start line

The day started well with the shag van making the usual impact on the road. A little more impact at mcdonalds than was anticipated, twating the height restriction sign in the drive through getting breakfast.

Having arrived at the track it was soon apparent that we were in for a free tractor pull up the hill in the van, ‘stu is gonna kick himself if he misses this one we thought’ with john deer hardware allover the place.

Once the sponsors and press were settled it was time for the start. A little disorganised to say the least and with a first corner the size of an average thai prostitutes back passage and everyone jumping the start it was always going to be intersting. Once andy had finished his lambert and butler he was off in last place. Never mind there is always some muppet that can’t get away and will take the wooden spoon for the first bend. And not too disappoint that muppet was still there ten minutes and half a dozen attempts later trying to get away. Rumor has it to give the cameras plenty of photo opportunity keeping the sponsors happy. Once he was away he maybe should have pulled up at the van. Which would have saved him the indignity of pushing a very capable dirt bike round a track for two hours. Those new alpinestars were crap as well.

With a track wetter than a dance floor full of nurses in the company of navy divers it was virtually impossible to get any grip anywhere. The word of the day was ‘momemtum’, loose that at your peril. Which richy roo was managing quite comfortably. Cutting through it masterfully on his new crf 450. Trouble is he was going round bits of the track here and bits of the track there, some of it linking and some of it even in the right direction. Never mind rich a wins a win. Get em in nealo!

Best spotted off of the day easily goes to Rich who was maybe getting a little cocky with the new stroker ( no not Gary Moore ). Phrapping up a tricky cambered incline flat out in 4th the beast decided to let him know who was really in charge and highsided him off into the hedge. Having contained my laughter for a nano second Rich as usual springs up instantly and gives a rider on the track the thumbs up giving me my que to piss myself with laughter.

Poor old paul couldn’t have found a more gopping day out to get back into the swing off things with a few months out. After getting the cr round almost to the lap counter on lap 1 the old 2 stroke siezed on him. So that was that and the ticker tape heaved a sigh of relief.

When nealo wasn’t making stuff up about the reliability of his bike and taking plenty of rests he was going quite well. Mind you when you are that rich and own your own nuclear power plant you don’t have any sponsors to impress. As usual though looked by far the most stylish in all the photo’s.

Indrier conditions i’m sure it would be a great track. Really looking forward to going back. More than the results dropping through the front door that’s for sure.

Even the exit from the field was entertaining bumping and grinding in the front seat of the shag bus managed to get us out ahead of the tarmacers in the renault. Mostly thanks to richies missus (she’s a big old unit ).

There we are another ‘fun’ day out in the mud and shit. Anyone wanna trade a set of darts for an 04 crf 250??!!!!!

Thanks to all our sponsors who shall remain nameless for obvious reasons as there are none.

Big up to the guy who lost his merc sprinter in the ditch. How it never rolled onto its side is a miracle. Hope he got it home ok.

Thanks also to the shag racing fans that came out to enjoy the muddy spectacle and keep us going when we would easily have quit.

The prick who couldn’t get off the start line .
