On Thursday 22nd July Darren raced at Castle Combe in the summer series.  It was a wet night but stopped raining just before the start.  There were 13 4th cats and about 35 riders overall.

Darren found it easy to stay in the bunch, unlike the previous 2 races when the bunch was large and the wind was high, and even took turns on the front.

The 3rds caught the 4th cats after about 7 laps and then the E/1/2 caught the 3/4 bunch on the last lap.  The majority of the riders stayed in the one pack until the sprint finish at the end.  Darren finished about 25th.
