Another season of Somer Valley 10mile TT's has finished and another Rhymer has won the improvers cup.

With a 5 point lead going into the final week Darren knew what he had to do.  He said "I've just got to stay 1min 30s ahead of Tony and not lose to Nick by more than 2min 18s.  Its going to be tough, Nick has been going really well lately and Tonys performances go up and down so if hes having a good week im going to struggle.  Even if I lose to these guys they still have to get 5 or more points to draw level".

In the end Darren stayed superbly consistant and did a 27:30, Tony had a poor week with a 30:02 and Nick did a 26:01.  So Darren wins the competition by a clear 7 points.  Commenting on his win Darren said "It was a tough night, I was trying to get into the 26mins but that will have to wait until next year.  I've still got to win (the competition) it 3 more times to match my dad who won it 4 times in 5 years".
