Yeovil 10TT U30/10 PDF Print E-mail

Although the sun was out there was stiff wind on the A303 making the usually fast course quite a bit slower than anticipated.

Neither Keith, Chris or Darren broke any records with the gap between the Rhymers being smaller than Darren would have liked.

"Yeah it was hard out there, I was really struggling the last 3 miles, but ive now got a marker for the return leg in August".

Keith:  23:09

Darren: 28:09

Chris: 28:38

Keith Penny Joins ShagRacing PDF Print E-mail

Today saw Shag Racing CC capture the signature of Ironman Keith Penny.  Joining as the 5th member (maybe like Nicola from Girls Aloud) Penny said he was thrilled and 'honoured' to be part of the club.

"I've wanted to be part of ShagRacing for years now but never had the right criteria to join.  Now Im part of the club, I feel I can provide tips and knowledge and push forward with my training for the winters competition"

Frome 5TT 3rd Sept 2009 PDF Print E-mail

Last night saw Darren and Rich enter the Frome Wheelers 5mile Time Trial.  It was a windy night which saw both ShagRacers beat 15 minutes.  An impressive acheivment for Rich as this was his first TT of any kind.

Rich recorded a time of 14:43 and said "I couldnt have gone any faster, well maybe a bit, but don't judge me!  Im pleased with beating 15mins, very happy"

Stu turned up at the start in his car just as it started raining.  The wind was quite strong but not as gusty as last week.  Darren improved by 30 seconds and was also happy, "Yeah im pleased with the time, I was hoping to get under 14 minutes but the weather didnt help me.  Rich did well for his first TT, im going to need to train hard over winter to stay ahead of Rich!!"

Darren wins Improvers Cup PDF Print E-mail

Another season of Somer Valley 10mile TT's has finished and another Rhymer has won the improvers cup.

With a 5 point lead going into the final week Darren knew what he had to do.  He said "I've just got to stay 1min 30s ahead of Tony and not lose to Nick by more than 2min 18s.  Its going to be tough, Nick has been going really well lately and Tonys performances go up and down so if hes having a good week im going to struggle.  Even if I lose to these guys they still have to get 5 or more points to draw level".
